Tyler Technologies

tyler technologies

The Tyler Technologies tenant improvement project in Modesto reflects a strategic approach to office design that prioritizes both function and professionalism. Working closely with the client, the architectural team transformed a conventional office space into a tailored environment that supports the unique needs of a leading public sector software provider. The design aimed to accommodate a balance of heads-down work, team collaboration, and seamless technological integration, all while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that aligns with the company’s brand identity.

A key feature of the design was space optimization—providing open office areas with natural light access, enclosed private offices for focused work, and well-equipped conference rooms for virtual and in-person meetings. Durable finishes, clean lines, and modern lighting were chosen not just for visual impact, but for long-term performance and low maintenance. Acoustic treatments and strategic layout decisions help support a productive and comfortable work atmosphere, essential for teams handling complex, data-driven solutions.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful design can elevate a workspace beyond simple utility, creating an environment that reinforces corporate culture and empowers employees. The result is a clean, modern, and efficient office that serves as a reliable foundation for the growing presence of Tyler Technologies in the Central Valley.

MACT Angels Camp Admin & Museum

mact angels camp admin & museum

The MACT Angels Camp Museum & Administration Building is a thoughtfully designed two-story facility located in Angels Camp, California. This new construction serves as both a cultural museum and an administrative center for the Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne (MACT) Health Board. The building’s first floor houses museum and artifact display areas, a gift shop, main lobby, museum storage, and administrative and IT offices. The second floor includes a library, board room, and additional administrative spaces for billing, finance, and training.

A distinctive feature of the project is the integration of a traditional roundhouse, reflecting the cultural heritage of the local Miwuk people. The design also includes a pedestrian skywalk connecting the new building to the existing medical facility on site, facilitating seamless access between the structures. The project aims to create a space that honors Native American traditions while providing modern amenities for community engagement and administrative functions.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the MACT Museum & Administration Building took place in June 2023, marking the culmination of a 16-year vision to establish a dedicated space for preserving and showcasing Miwuk cultural artifacts. The facility is part of a broader initiative to serve both Native American and non-native community members in the Mother Lode region, providing services in an environment that respects and supports American Indian traditions, values, and beliefs.

Village Butcher

village butcher

The Village Butcher in Modesto was a standout example of thoughtful, community-focused design. From the architect’s perspective, the project was an opportunity to transform a 2,000-square-foot former frame shop into a modern, transparent space that celebrated the craft of whole-animal butchery. The layout emphasized openness, allowing customers to witness the butchering process firsthand, fostering trust and connection between the butcher and the community.

Central to the design was the integration of functional elements that supported the shop’s diverse offerings, including a deli, retail space, and educational areas for butchery classes. The use of durable materials and clean lines created a hygienic and welcoming environment, while the inclusion of communal seating areas encouraged patrons to linger and engage with the space. The design also accommodated the shop’s commitment to sustainability, with designated areas for processing and utilizing every part of the animal, aligning with their zero-waste philosophy.

Although the brick-and-mortar location closed in April 2024 due to economic challenges, the spirit of The Village Butcher lives on through catering, pop-ups, and community events. The architectural design played a pivotal role in establishing a space that was not only functional but also deeply connected to the community’s values and the region’s agricultural heritage. This project stands as a testament to how thoughtful design can enhance the relationship between food, place, and people.

The LunchBOX Waxing Salon in Elk Grove presented a unique opportunity to merge sleek modern aesthetics with functional efficiency. The tenant improvement focused on crafting a crisp, minimalist interior that echoed the brand’s promise of speed and style. Clean lines, durable materials, and strategic lighting were all integral to creating an environment that felt fresh, clinical, and comfortable—qualities essential to personal grooming spaces.

Spatial organization was key to the design, with a layout that maximized privacy while maintaining a sense of openness and ease of flow for both clients and staff. Individual waxing rooms were carefully soundproofed and aligned for smooth operation, while the lobby and reception were designed to be inviting without feeling over-designed—balancing simplicity with sophistication. Thoughtful material selections, from easy-to-clean surfaces to gentle lighting, ensured a calm and welcoming atmosphere.

The final result is a space that reflects LunchBOX’s identity: fast, clean, confident, and approachable. The architectural team took pride in delivering a space that is both on-brand and built for longevity—where every element supports the client’s mission of making waxing an accessible, everyday self-care routine.

Modesto Children’s Museum

Modesto Children's museum

Designing the Modesto Children’s Museum was a joyful and deeply engaging experience from the start. As architects, we were inspired by the energy and curiosity of the children who would one day explore this space. Our design vision centered around creating an environment that encourages hands-on learning, exploration, and creativity. From the building’s vibrant exterior to the flexible, light-filled interiors, every design choice was made to ignite imagination and support interactive play for all ages.

We worked closely with the client team to ensure that the layout would flow intuitively while supporting a wide variety of exhibits and activity zones. The open-plan design allows for visibility across spaces, fostering safety while encouraging a sense of freedom. Bright colors, tactile materials, and custom-designed architectural features create zones that are playful yet educational. Acoustics, lighting, and circulation patterns were all carefully studied to make sure both children and adults would feel comfortable and engaged throughout their visit.

The museum’s role as a cultural and educational anchor in downtown Modesto was also central to our approach. We prioritized transparency and accessibility by incorporating large windows and inviting entryways that welcome the community inside. Whether it’s a school field trip, weekend family outing, or a special event, the Modesto Children’s Museum is designed to be a space where fun and learning meet—and we’re proud to have helped bring it to life.
